Normal Shapes

This applet illustrates the parameters of the normal distribution. The line in the center of the blue distribution represents the mean. Drag it left or right to observe how changing the mean, changes the distribution. The horizontal line in the distribution (from the center to the curve's inflection point) represents the standard deviation. Drag left or right on the right-side of the distribution (anywhere beyond the representation of the standard deviation) to change the standard deviation. For reference, the standard normal distribution with mean 0 and standard deviation 1 is displayed in red.
